Back to Front is an electroacoustic sonata for cello and laptop ensemble.
From very soft sounds to distorted harmonics, I used some extended techniques to produce random or controlled rhythms and a comprehensive use of the harmonic spectrum. The live electronics parts bring more mass, colour and gesture to the piece. Laptop layers are interacting with the cellist with use of samples from the instrument, they develop these sounds until an improvised middle section before entering a gloss and dramatic finale.
